In this episode I recall some of my Christmas memories about our country church and my family. From waiting for people to come home to opening presents, this was a special time of year when I was a kid. Please come and listen to my tales of Christmas past.
The top picture is one that my son Eric McPeek took. It is the alter of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Hague Township as it sits in the Clark County Historical Society. It was in the original building until the congregation was dissolved in 1993.
The other picture is from the front of the bulletin for our Centennial celebration.

This is the companion blog to the "Bard on the Plains" podcast. This podcast is about stories and storytelling. Storytelling is one of oldest forms of entertainment. From sitting around the campfire to the child sitting on Grandpa's knee, we have communicated with each like this for ages. Not only was it entertainment it was also a way of passing down laws and traditions. We still communicate with each other nowadays but it is increasingly through static mediums such Facebook and Twitter. Without the human interaction we lose the context of the story. That is what I hope to do differently on this podcast, have real people telling their stories in their own voice so the emotion and feelings come through.
